Cybertel Unveils Next-Generation MCX Device ‘LM84’ at VIRVE Days 2026
2026.04.02
Introduction of Virve 2.0 MCX Device in Finland
Cybertel participated in VIRVE Days 2026, a public safety
communications event held in Finland on March 31, 2026, where it showcased its
next-generation Mission Critical Communication device. During the event, the
Cybertel section attracted continuous visits from Virve 2.0 user organizations,
accompanied by user-centric technical demonstrations and various discussions.
LM84 Presents a Practical Transition from TETRA to MCX
At the event, Cybertel exhibited CM65, LM75, and LM84
together, with particular focus placed on the upcoming LM84 as the flagship
product. LM84 is a fully rugged 5G MCX device designed to enable existing TETRA
users to transition naturally into the new MCX environment, featuring a
structure that prioritizes field usability above all. In particular, it
supports the transition to broadband-based communications while maintaining the
existing user experience through an interface and physical button layout similar
to TETRA radios.
Key Features of LM84 Demonstrated On-Site
At the event site, the following features of LM84 were
introduced as key differentiating points:
① OLED display-based status visibility: A function that enables users to
instantly check key information such as group, signal, and battery status
without taking out the device
② Intuitive control via rotary switch: A function designed to enable rapid PTT
group switching and volume control, enhancing operational efficiency
③ External antenna of LM84 device: A function that ensures continuity of
critical communications even in areas with weak RF coverage such as tunnels,
ports, and rural environments
④ Hot-swappable battery system: A function that maintains communication
sessions during battery replacement, supporting uninterrupted mission-critical
operations
MCX Operation Extended to Vehicle Environments
At VIRVE Days, a dedicated vehicle cradle was
demonstrated alongside LM84. The cradle enables direct connection to a vehicle
antenna, continuous communication while charging and docked, and stable
communication during mobility, positioning LM84 as an extended MCX device that
goes beyond handheld use to include vehicle-based operations.
MCX Device Strategy Aligned with European Market Needs
Through this event, Cybertel presented its device
strategy tailored to the European market preparing for the transition from
TETRA-based communications to broadband MCX, integrating support for 5G and
PPDR networks, RF extension via external antennas, a user-centric interface,
and an ecosystem of accessories and vehicle integration.
Shaping the Future of Public Safety Communications
Cybertel plans to continue leading the development of next-generation mission-critical communication environments across key industries such as public safety, railways, and utilities. Centered around LM84, its device and solution portfolio is evolving beyond simple communication equipment into an integrated platform that enhances both operational efficiency and safety in the field.
